On Friday 10th June 2011, we took some of our clients to Waddesdon Manor’s Rothschild Wine Day.
This was a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the magnificent French Renaissance-style château, which was built in the 1870's by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild to display his outstanding collection of art treasures and entertain the fashionable world. We toured the first floor and then headed into the Manor’s wine cellars which houses 15,000 bottles of wine dating back to 1870. There we tasted 8 Grand Vins with Waddesdon's own Master of Wine, where we sampled wines such as Châteaux Lafite Rothschild and Mouton Rothschild.
Following the wine tasting, we headed to the Manor restaurant where we enjoyed a 5 course lunch accompanied by appropriate wines per course.
This was a fabulous, relaxed day and we look forward to visiting the Manor again with some of our clients shortly.
“I had the pleasure of attending a Waddeson Wine Day trip with Michelle and Steve Germain. The event was stunning from beginning to end. An amazing site to visit, an informative, fun and extensive wine tasting finished with a beautiful lunch and a glass or two more of the wonderful wines we had tried. A super day all round.”
